When André first moved to his beautiful farm in the Shenandoah Valley in 1976, the grounds looked quite a bit different than they do now!
André’s vision was that his nursery in the valley would become a destination – a place where visitors could come not only to purchase plants but to spend a leisurely day strolling through beautiful gardens and come away with a head full of ideas. When he set out to design the gardens at Viette’s, his goal was to create spectacular display gardens for year around enjoyment and also provide a showplace where customers could see how his perennials would look in a mature landscape.
André artfully incorporated the perfect combinations of trees, shrubs, bulbs, perennials and annuals in his gardens to provide year-round interest. When you visit Viette’s, you will always find something in bloom – no matter what the season! Plan to visit our nursery and gardens several times during the season. You will be amazed at the progression of colors and textures that occurs from spring through winter! Nothing is ever still or static – there is always color, movement, and interest! Come see why these spectacular gardens have been featured in national magazines and on public television!

We would love to have you come for a visit in the fall. The gardens are beautiful at that time of the year. Please send us an e-mail (viette@viette.com) or call (800) 575-5538 with a few details about what you would like in the way of a field trip, e.g. a lecture, garden tour …
Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

We do not have a brochure at this time but I would be glad to answer any questions you might have. Feel free to call me at the nursery at 800-575-5538 for more information. April is a beautiful time in the Viette gardens with the flowering trees, shrubs, and bulbs as well as the early perennials. Our garden center will be opening on Saturday, April 14th but probably won’t be fully stocked until early May due to the unpredictable spring weather. We have a tentative lecture on grafted vegetables and other hot new trends in vegetable gardening planned for Saturday, 4/28 at 1:30pm.
Thanks for getting back to me Lori! We will be talking more about this at our March meeting on the 24th. Do we need to make a reservation or anything?
Donna Cousins
If you are planning to come to the lecture on the 28th, it would probably be a good idea to let us know the approximate number of people so we can make sure we have enough seating set up. If you are just planning to come for a walk through the gardens on your own, there is no official need but our Garden Center manager would probably like to know so he could be prepared to greet your group.
Thanks! Will do!
Donna
